The Local — Shane MacGowan

ART-B STUDIOS presents The Local, an eight-minute short documentary exploring the lifelong connection between Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan and his ancestral home of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Directed by Bartosz Kolacki, the film draws on personal testimony from those closest to him to tell the story of a musician who never lost sight of where he came from. Intimate, grounded and quietly compelling, The Local was featured in the Irish Examiner and premiered in 2025.

We worked on production and post-production, capturing intimate moments and personal stories that bring Shane's connection to his homeland to life. The documentary balances cinematography, sound design, and editing to create a compelling narrative that honors both the subject and the craft.
